Colony

From Guide

Colonies are the most important structures in the game. Every player has one (and just one) and almost everything revolves around your colony. It's up to you how well you think you should defend your colony. Your colony can't be taken away from you, but it can be conquered. As the number of your workers grow, the colony's appearance changes.

Role Of Colonies

The colony's roles range from production to deployment. Most of the features are listed below.

Population With Production

Colonies can house a maximum of 500 workers without outposts. The more workers a colony has, the more resources a player will receive per hour, or "tick." Once the maximum of 500 workers is reached, a player can build Outposts (OP) to increase the population cap by 100 Workers per OP. A maximum of 1,000 workers can be reached per colony, which means in addition to your colony, you'll have at least 5 outposts. See population for more details. But no matter how many OP's you own, your actual workers will never exceed 1,000.

Crystal and Relic Storage

A new colony receives a crystal after building the level-4 Metal structure, which is kept in the colony. As owning a crystal raises your metal, oil and food by 1, and your general score by 5, it is considered an item of value, which means that other players will try to steal it. This can only be prevented by the initial Protection stage and by recruiting military units to defend against attacks (once protection expires). Unlike crystals, relics cannot be gained by building any particular structure, but are found as "wreckage" and recovered once they have been placed in the game by the Admin. As relics raise the food, metal and oil production for each member of the owner's alliance, they are viewed as having greater importance than crystals. But even more importantly, it is the ownership of relics that determines who wins the round, a crucial fact that also results in attempts to steal them from their owners. See Relics & Crystals.
