Control Ticks apply to many aspects of the game. Your colony, outposts and conquers, can all have control ticks. The ticks prevent certain actions being performed, until they have exceeded a certain number. For example, if you relocate, your control ticks on your colony are reset, meaning you have to wait for them to meet or exceed 72 until being able to relocate again, or perform other actions requiring colony control ticks.

Colonies

Your colony has control ticks that can be reset by certain actions.

Rebellion

When you initiate a rebellion against your conquer, your colony's control ticks are reset. Your rebellion will be completed when your control ticks reach 72 again. During the time that your control ticks are below that, all actions requiring 72 control ticks will be inaccessable. If you cease rebelling (change your mind) or your rebellion is quelled, your control ticks are reset.

Conquered

When you are conquered, your control ticks will be reset. You will have to wait 72 ticks to be able to initiate a rebellion. As mentionewd below, your conquer cannot force-relocate you until you have re-gained 48 control ticks. You can liberate yourself at ANY time, by conquering your conquerer by military means.

Relics

Upon capturing a relic, your control ticks are reset. This stops player gaining relics, then relocating instantly or joining another alliance, simply because they have gained a relic. This is a small incentive to stay loyal to your alliance however small, and not join a larger one because of your relic.

Outposts

When built, or captured, an outpost's control ticks are reset. The outpost can then only be upgraded or razed when it's control ticks reach 24. Nukes cannot be armed until the control ticks reach 24. Upgrading an outpost does not reset it's control ticks, meaning that a silo can be built and armed in the same tick.

Conquers

When you conquer a colony, the control tick of that conlony reset (as aforementioned). You have to wait until the control ticks reach 48 before being able to force-relocate your conquer.
